Here on Jumper Spotlight we highlight someone who is, or has been, important to our sport and community. The people we highlight can be athletes, judges, announcers, coaches, or just someone who’s passion for the sport has impacted you, your team, our community, or our sport in an important way.
If you would like to be spotlighted, or have someone else you think should be spotlighted feel free to e-mail us at [email protected]
Today’s Jumper Spotlight is, Sarah Dobrowolski, known also as @SarahDobski on Instagram. Sarah is also our guest on the 15th episode of the Jump Rope Jam Podcast. You can listen to Sarah Dobrowolski’s episode here to find out how she responds to some ‘really good questions’, keep Brandon past his appointment, and tackle a Jump-Rope-Sports-Medicine topic that makes Eilea blush, or on your phone through iTunes.
Dr. Sarah Dobrolwski is a pioneer in her application of sports medicine to our sport. While most of us may recognize her voice as an official announcer with the World Jump Rope Federation, not as many of us have heard her story and perspective on the sport.
With an Honours Bachelor Degree of Science, a Masters of Kinesiology, a Medical degree, and a long standing background jumping competitively, Sarah continues to develop new training methods and test theories with the concern of our athletes at heart. Her recent work and research in ‘Maximizing Performance and Minimizing Injury’ has insightfully highlighted the correlation between stress and resilience as they pertain to physical injury, and includes training schedules, assessment forms, and prevention techniques.
